Women) including In-Service and Kalyana -Karnataka- reg.
CORRIGENDUM TO THE PROVISIONAL SELECT LIST DATED: 21.10.2024
1. In pursuance to the Notification dated: 21.01.2021 cited at reference( 1), the
recruitment process to fill up 545 posts of Sub-lnspector of Police (Civil) (Men &
Women) including In-Service and Kalyana-Karnataka was initiated. The Endurance Test
and Physical Standard Test of all the candidates, who had applied for selection to the
above said posts was conducted. The written examination was conducted on 03.10.2021
to all the candidates, who had qualified in the Endurance Test and Physical Standard
Test.
2. Whereas, as per the procedure laid down in the Cadre and Recruitment
(Amendment) Rules, 2009, 2016 & 2020, after completing the above said process, the
Provisional Select List in the order of merit of candidates equal to the number of
vacancies notihed, was prepared and published vide reference (2). After the publication
of the provisional select list, unit wise provisional select list were published to conduct
medical examination and document verification of the selected candidates by the
concemed units. The units were informed to send the reports vide reference(3).
3. In the background of illegalities found in the recruitment process, the cases
registered were investigated by CID. As per the recommendations made in the report of
CID, the Government of Karnataka vide reference (4) decided to cancel the written
examination conducted on 03. 10.202 I and it was also decided to conduct re-examination.
Aggrieved by the Govemment order dated: 29.04.2022, some of the selected candidates
filed applications in the Kamataka State Administrative Tribunal, which came to be
dismissed the order of the Kamataka State Administrative Tribunal was questioned in
various writ petitions filed in Hon'ble High Court of Karnataka. The Hon'ble High Court
of Kamataka after hearing the matter, upheld the Karnataka State Administrative
Tribunal order vide reference (5). The Hon'ble High Court of Kamataka also directed as
under;-
(i) Writ Petitions are dismissed;
(ii) To ensure fair re-examination, the State Government shall entrust the process of
re-examination to an independent agency without charging any fresh fee to the
candidates.
(iii) No costs.
